Dance company: Coïncidence
Role: CO-DIRECTOR, CO-CHOREOGRAPHER, DANCER
A blink of the eye, it’s nothing; who would notice? What if you were prisoner of your own body, what if this blink was your only link between you and the rest of the world, what if your imagination was your only way to move? What if someone put you in a chair and your mind was your only way to feel free: so, do you know where your chrysalid would go?
Mixing dance, drama and video, this creation by the company Coïncidence is inspired by the book “Le scaphandre et le papillon” by Jean-Dominique Bauby (The Diving-Bell and the Butterfly). It addresses the everyday life of this ‘walled up alive’ man, but also the one of the people living in the hospital, fighting the same battle: disability.
Let M. L and his entourage of cripples and doctors take you to a bizarre world, sometimes worrying, yet full of hope: “Chrysalide”.
